Last November I spent Thanksgiving with my family for the first time in almost 10 years.

②「a fan of ～」（～が好き・～のファンである）

「a fan of ～」は、「～が好き」や「～のファンである」という意味で、特定の食べ物、趣味、スポーツ、芸能人などについて話すときに使えます。否定形で使うと、「あまり好きではない」というニュアンスになります。

「catch up」は、「近況を語り合う」や「遅れを取り戻す」という意味で、久しぶりに会った人とお互いの近況を話すときによく使います。
